Stars of the Lid is a group I only really listen to when I’m trying to go to sleep. I just woke up 10 minutes ago because I have have to be at work at 4am. I’ve been working on the receiving crew at Academy Sports + Outdoors this summer, meaning I’ve had to wake up this early three mornings a week.
One thing this has taught me: self-discipline. I’ve had to be strict about when I go to bed so that I’m at least slightly rested for work. Because of this I’ve missed out on lots of time that would’ve been spent with friends. But I guess this is what being an adult is like. You make sacrifices for your job/career because you and possibly others depend on the money you make from it.
I have to leave pretty soon, so I’m gonna go ahead and close out this post. My instant oatmeal is getting cold.
